More room to Talk on your phone

By Tulip Talk Team ·

Practising a conversation with the gemeente or the Belastingdienst should feel like a conversation. On a small phone, the information notice used to take up space above the chat. That could push the message box out of view just when you needed it.

We changed the layout for these two practice scenarios. The full notice, including the statement that Tulip Talk is independent and the link to the real authority, sits at the top of the conversation's scroll area. Scroll back to the top whenever you want to read it again.

The message box stays within the phone screen while you work through a guided step. After you choose a response, the step controls move above the new reply so you can keep reading the conversation. You can still reach the whole notice and all earlier messages by scrolling.

This is a small change to how the space is used, but it gives the Dutch practice itself more room. We checked both government scenarios on a narrow phone screen, including the notice, the guided choice and the message box.

The updated Talk page is available in a browser. Android updates reach devices through Google Play review; an older installed build may still show the earlier layout until it updates.

Practise this, don't just read it

Tulip Talk turns Dutch grammar into CEFR-laddered practice — sentence building, pronunciation with reference audio, and exam simulations. Free to start.
